Opened in urgency and with the benefit of hindsight some haste after detecting a leakage from transit, but in reality the bottle could have been reset confidently without issue. Magnificent ruby colour with a sublime strawberry spectrum on the nose with earthy primary fruit sweetness and incredible weight and length on the palette. Still incredibly youthful, with refreshing sweet coulis initially before evolving into a luscious conserve of delightful berry elements. A delightful old Burg that deserved a better occasion (98 points 2/11/07).
