1967 Vintage

I have found the longevity of Australian clarets generally questionable outside of a handful of the usual well storied bottles (53 Grange, Bin 7, Bin 60a etc). This however was definitely an exception as it showed brilliantly. Dark in colour with camphor, tobacco & cigar box on the nose with the latter two also intensely showing on the palette giving it exceptional weight. Akin to lovely old Bordeaux, its impressive structure and balance could conceivably see another 5-10 given the right bottle. (17/10/07 97 points).
